Trusting in the hands that heal

resting in the light of grace

trusting beyond time and space

knowing that all hope is sure

faith that i will be made pure

wanting to let go of doubt

cleansing all within, without

all His love will soon reveal

trusting in the hands that heal

4 Pillars of a Man Breakfast Meeting

We had a great meeting this morning with 32 men.  This was our first meeting.  Hoping to perhaps do one every month.

“An individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law.”

Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.

From Exile to Restoration

There comes a time in the life of most leaders when you feel like you are in exile. People don’t understand you.  You feel like you are in the wrong place and the wrong time.  The exiled soul longs for divine restoration.

We desire to restore a church to true worship, triumphing over senseless controversies regarding instruments, style and context that so often bring bondage to a church.

Restoration can be for a church but also an individual leader.  It’s personal. Very personal.  Just maybe you can relate to these declarations of restoration:

Restoration today is owning up to the fact I am getting older and I am not the same guy I was when I was a youth minister. And I’m OK with that.

Restoration today is admitting that I am unsure of the future of my ministry. God knows and that is all that matters.  And I’m OK with that.

Restoration today is all about trust in an unseen Hand that knows every inch of me and has seen the depth of my darkness and the burning light within. Restoration today is realizing that worship far outshines manmade happiness.  And I may not ever really see happiness in ways that I thought. But in the end, I get God. And I’m OK with that.

Restoration today is arriving at the conclusion that my greatest works will not be documented and my deepest wounds may be seen by all. And although I shudder to think about how hard it is to stand in truth- I’m OK with that.

Restoration has nothing to do with savings accounts, diplomas, attendance records or successes. Restoration is a daring passion that gives glory to God. It’s saying, “I may end up penniless and alone with few possessions when I die. And I’m OK with that.”

Restoration is found in the truth that God is slowly growing me to be a worshiper who is comfortable in his story as a part of a much larger story of restoration.

It’s leaving my personal Babylon for unrivaled devotion to God.

Restoration is simply saying, “Whatever you’ve got for me, I want it.”  It may cost me everything. But, you guessed it, I’m OK with that too.

I Need You More: Prayer intro to the Song

Lord, knowing that you have good gifts that will carry us through every challenge we have as believers, reminds us how much we need you.

I’m tired of trying to do things in my own strength.  It’s futile. Every aspect of my life says, “I need you more”

I need more of your power, I need more of your grace.

And I boldly say whatever it is you have for me, I want it.

And I don’t care what it takes to get it. Because I need you more.

More power, more hope, more faith for my family, for my church, and especially more for those who are lost and headed to hell. We don’t desire it for our glory-  we desire for Hendersonville and the world.

We want more.

We need a miracle. We need willingness. And more than anything we need you.
